Position Title: Cluster Advisor on Education in Emergencies (EiE) SA

Position Overview:

Plan International seeks a Cluster Advisor on Education in Emergencies (EiE) to lead and provide strategic guidance on education initiatives in emergencies across Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, and Paraguay. The role involves improving the quality and impact of EiE programming through technical support, coordination with stakeholders, and strategic leadership in emergency responses. The advisor will ensure interventions align with global humanitarian standards and national education plans, focusing on child protection, gender, and inclusion. They will support the development of funding proposals and ensure the effective implementation of EiE programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic guidance and leadership on EiE initiatives.
  • Promote best practices in emergency education, ensuring alignment with global standards (INEE, CPHA, CHS, WISS).
  • Coordinate with local and international stakeholders to enhance program impact.
  • Ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of program management and implementation.
  • Support DRM and BD in developing successful EiE funding proposals.
  • Collaborate with grant coordinators and M&E colleagues to collect relevant data and produce required reports.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, International Development, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in emergency education, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in developing integrated, conflict-sensitive, and gender-aware educational programs in humanitarian settings.
  • Strong understanding of the humanitarian landscape and the INEE Minimum Standards in the South American context.
  • Experience in conducting education needs assessments and M&E activities.
  • Experience in advocacy, particularly in education and inclusion for girls in crisis contexts.
  • Experience working in various humanitarian contexts, including with the Education Cluster.
  • Ability to obtain funding from public and private sources; excellent skills in writing funding applications and donor reports.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fluent in Spanish and proficient in English.
