ITC is seeking an Associate Regional Project Monitoring and Communication Expert for the ‘EU-ASEAN Sustainable Connectivity Package – Trade’ (SCOPE Trade) project, funded by the European Union (EU). The project’s aim is to improve sustainable connectivity between the EU and ASEAN, focusing on trade, economic connectivity, and sustainable value chains. The project office is located within the ASEAN Secretariat premises in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Functions

Project Monitoring

  • Assist in designing and implementing a monitoring plan aligned with project objectives and logical framework.
  • Develop, review, and improve project monitoring mechanisms, tools, and templates for data collection and tracking.
  • Assist project experts in adapting monitoring tools for their respective outputs and activities.
  • Conduct regular data collection on project activities using developed monitoring tools.
  • Record, process, and analyze collected data; highlight relevant results and milestones.
  • Prepare project brochures and quarterly monitoring reports, focusing on impact on beneficiaries.
  • Review results against the logical framework, identify trends, and provide insights for data-driven planning and reporting.

Project Communication

  • Organize and conduct interviews (written, photo, video) of project beneficiaries and produce success stories.
  • Manage photographic and video coverage of project events for promotional materials.
  • Support the development and dissemination of communication content, including press releases, success stories, brochures, videos, and social media posts.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Recruitment Qualifications

Education and Qualifications

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in International Trade, Economics, Journalism, Communications, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • A first-level degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in the specified fields with two additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.

Experience

  • Minimum of two years of experience in monitoring and communication-related work.
  • Experience working with the ASEAN region is required.
  • Experience in trade-related technical assistance, business support, or related fields is an advantage.
  • Experience in result-based project/programme management, administration, or related areas is desirable.
  • Experience working with UN, EU, or other development agencies is desirable.

Language Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of English.
  • Knowledge of languages spoken in ASEAN Member States is desirable.

Critical Job-Specific Competencies

  • Professionalism: Data management and analytics skills, project monitoring knowledge, familiarity with media channels including social media in ASEAN, skills in graphic design, understanding of development and trade subjects, knowledge of communications software, ability to plan and execute public communication campaigns, research and analyze issues, and incorporate gender perspectives.
