Major Responsibilities
- Client Services:
- Develop and implement youth programs, such as after-school or cultural enrichment activities for Afghan & Ukrainian youth.
- Coordinate services for Afghan & Ukrainian children and parents in collaboration with local school systems to ensure educational success.
- Orient Afghan & Ukrainian families to the American public school system and family law issues to increase parental involvement in school activities.

- Enhance school personnel’s understanding of the cultural and language needs of Afghan & Ukrainian families.
- Encourage student participation in after-school tutoring, mentoring, high school completion programs, summer clubs, and college preparation assistance.
- Ensure participant eligibility and implement a monitoring and evaluation structure for continuous improvement.
- Participate in IRC’s internal Education & Youth network, assist in resource development, and contribute to grant proposal writing.
- Adhere to all IRC policies, procedures, and protocols, emphasizing client confidentiality.
Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience in human services is strongly preferred.
- Language Proficiency: Fluent in English (spoken and written); bilingual ability in Dari, Ukrainian, Pashto, or Russian is desired.
- Skills:
- Success in working and communicating effectively in a multicultural environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, including multitasking, prioritization, and time management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

- Combination of standard office environment and field work within the service delivery area.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to accommodate participant schedules.

Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly Wage: $17.30 – $20.16, based on experience and qualifications.
