Job Overview
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) seeks a Senior Business Development Adviser for the Grant Operations & Analytics Team (GOAT). Established in April 2021, GOAT consolidates grants, business development, finance, and analytics to enhance efficiency and quality control. The Senior Business Development Adviser will coordinate business development opportunities, working closely with Technical Excellence units and other departments to lead the proposal development process for high-value funding opportunities.

Compensation:
- USD: $108,000.00 – $118,000.00 annually
- GBP: £56,875.00 – £66,354.00 annually

Key Areas of Accountability
Bid Assignment, Advisement & Process Improvement (60%)
- Coordinate and monitor the development of the Business Development strategy.
- Support donor relations, participate in donor meetings, and communicate priorities to internal units.
- Serve as a liai
- Assign staff to specific proposals and track the process from concept to submission.
- Develop and refine business development processes, ensuring alignment with organizational standards.
- Collaborate with the Senior Partnership Adviser to embed effective partnership practices.
- Develop guidance for standard budget allocations and maintain procedural documentation.
- Ensure proper OTIS management through proposal submission.
Leadership (25%)
- Represent Technical Excellence in senior meetings.
- Act as a member of the GOAT Management Team, fostering cross-unit collaboration.
- Lead and mentor staff, promoting high performance and collaborative relationships.
- Create and foster cross-functional partnerships within GOAT.
- Implement accountability mechanisms for managerial excellence.
- Promote diversity, inclusion, localization, and gender equality.
- Support a culture of learning and development within the team.

Proposal Development (15%)
- Lead donor-specific program scoping and pre-development of concept notes.
- Coordinate the development of proposals, ensuring consistency and compliance.
- Support quality assurance reviews for all opportunities.

- Position Reports to: Senior Director, Grant Operations and Analytics Team
- Position Directly Supervises: Business Development Coordinators & Officers
- Internal Contacts: Technical Unit teams, IPP, Awards Management Unit
- External Contacts: Current and potential donors
Job Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
Work Experience:
- 7+ years of experience managing government and/or private grants.
- Demonstrated experience in developing proposals and winning bids for public and private donors.
Skills and Competencies:

- Understanding of project management principles.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality work.
- Experience in building relationships with senior staff and external partners.
- Knowledge of institutional funding regulations and procedures.

- Interpersonal and communication skills for a multicultural environment.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Desktop Publishing.
Language Skills:
- Fluent in English; proficiency in Spanish, French, or Arabic is a plus.
Working Environment:
- Standard office environment with potential remote work.
- Travel less than 20%.
