About the Talent Pool and the Role

WFP Zimbabwe is creating a talent pool of highly qualified and dynamic candidates interested in working with WFP. Successful candidates will be placed in a roster for three years (female candidates) and two years (male candidates) and will be deployed when positions arise. Candidates may be posted in any WFP office in Zimbabwe.

  • Social and humanitarian assistance for food-and-nutrition-insecure populations.
  • Support for urban food-insecure households to build resilient livelihoods.
  • Support for rural communities to promote climate-resilient livelihoods.
  • Collaboration with national actors to enhance capacities for achieving food and nutrition security.
  • Services to humanitarian and development actors to ensure efficient, effective, and reliable support during crises.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Perform administrative procurement activities to support field operations.
  2. Compile data and prepare documents to support procurement programs.
  3. Review, record, and prioritize purchasing requests ensuring all supporting documentation is received.
  4. Coordinate and monitor delivery of procurement requisitions.
  5. Research and present information in standard formats for informed decision-making.
  6. Update and maintain relevant databases and records.
  7. Liaise with internal counterparts to align procurement activities.
  8. Provide technical support to other support staff.
  9. Follow standard emergency preparedness practices.

Standard Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing and Supply, Business Management, or related field.

Language:

  • Fluency in English. Fluency in any local language is desired.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years in procurement, supply chain, or related fields.
  • Experience in procurement activities, conducting analyses, and developing reports.
  • Experience working with suppliers or other third parties.
