Job Overview

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) seeks a Job Developer for the Sacramento Early Employment team. This team aids newly arrived refugee clients in attaining self-sufficiency through employment. The Job Developer will identify and create job opportunities through employer outreach and engagement, match clients with these opportunities, and provide ongoing support to both employers and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Employer Outreach & Relationship Building:
    • Conduct outreach to identify job opportunities and build employer relationships.
    • Coordinate on-site hiring events with employer partners for clients.
    • Develop and maintain positive relationships with area employers.
    • Educate employers on refugee employment benefits and documentation.
  • Client Services:
    • Act as a liaison between the IRC, employers, clients, and community partners.
    • Research and attend job development events such as job fairs and community events.
    • Plan and implement workshops and development activities for clients.
    • Customize resumes, assist with job applications, and guide clients through the hiring process.
    • Monitor job performance, wage levels, and employer/employee satisfaction.
    • Assist clients and employers with post-placement issues and continuing employment needs.
  • Program Goals & Administration:
    • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual job placement goals.
    • Promote team engagement, inclusion, and cohesion within IRC Sacramento.
    • Foster ongoing learning and adherence to IRC values and policies.

Job Requirements

  • Skills & Experience:
    • Strong interpersonal skills for effective networking and influence.
    • Experience in building relationships with employers and organizational partners.
    • Strong analytical skills and the ability to develop contingency plans.
    • Excellent organizational skills for tracking information and maintaining records.
    • Effective conflict management and communication skills.
    • Familiarity with the Sacramento job market is preferred.
    • Proven success in taking initiative and achieving goals in a multicultural environment.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Working Environment

  • Standard office environment with regular travel within the service delivery area.
  • Occasional weekend and/or evening work may be required.
  • Stable Wi-Fi with a hybrid model.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly Wage: $29.10 – $30.00, based on experience and qualifications.
  • Benefits: Comprehensive and highly competitive, including:
    • Sick time and a 403b retirement savings plan with up to 4.5% matching contribution and 3-7% additional IRC contribution.
