Job Context
Under the supervision of the National Central Accounting Officer and the direct supervision of the General Accounting Supervisor, the Central Accounting Associates will play a crucial role in managing and reporting on revenue and accounts receivable for IOM’s global operations.
Core Functions / Responsibilities
Recording of Revenue, Accounts Receivable and Other Transactions:
- Facilitate and analyze revenue accrual and accounts receivable setup for various projects and funding agreements.
- Monitor and record received funds, manage down payments, and process adjustments as necessary.
- Handle in-kind contributions and UN 1% Levy transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant procedures.
- Respond to queries and issues related to revenue policies, receivables, and financial entries.
- Maintain a secure filing system for all financial entries and employ internal controls to safeguard assets.

Monitoring of Accounts Receivable:
- Generate and analyze monthly AR aging reports, coordinate with project managers on outstanding accounts, and investigate high-risk receivables.
Preparation of Financial Management Reports (FMR) and Other Reports:
- Assist in drafting FMR schedules, prepare monitoring reports, and support in FMR preparation and audits.
Other Responsibilities:
- Support audits by preparing schedules and resolving queries.
- Contribute to the automation of financial reports and procedures.
- Provide accounting support for Pension Administration and assist in bank reconciliations.
Requirements
Education:
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field with 3 years of relevant experience, or
- High School degree with 5 years of relevant experience. CPA or equivalent is an advantage.
Experience:
- Proficiency in accounting systems (SAP, ORACLE) and MS Office.
- Strong analytical skills and experience in audit is beneficial.
Languages:
- Fluency in English required. Knowledge of a second UN language is desirable.
