Job Title: Strategic Market Analyst (Food)
Contract/Grade: NOA Fixed-Term Staff
Location: UAE, Dubai

Reporting To: Head of Supplier Relationship Management
As a Strategic Market Analyst, you will play a pivotal role within the Supplier Relationship Management team at the GCC WFP Office in Dubai. Your primary responsibility will be to support the development and implementation of WFP’s new Food Supplier Relationship Management strategy across the GCC region.

Key Accountabilities
In this role, your key responsibilities will include:
- Market Analysis: Conducting in-depth market analyses to identify optimal suppliers within the GCC/UAE region.
- Market Dynamics: Assessing market dynamics to enhance WFP’s procurement strategies for food items.
- Supplier Networks: Developing and maintaining strategic supplier networks across the GCC to ensure a robust supply chain.
- Local Insights: Utilizing local knowledge and insights to optimize food procurement within the UAE and neighboring countries.
- Networking: Participating in relevant food supplier events and forums in the GCC region to expand WFP’s network and visibility.
- Procurement Strategies: Contributing to the development of tailored procurement strategies for the GCC/UAE market to increase WFP’s engagement with local and regional suppliers.
- Market Trends: Monitoring global market trends and pricing dynamics, with a specific focus on the GCC/UAE region.
- Innovation: Staying updated on advancements in the GCC/UAE market to introduce innovative procurement practices and strategies.
- Vendor Relations: Facilitating meetings and engagements between WFP colleagues and vendors to align procurement needs with market offerings.
Position Requirements
To qualify for this role, you should have:
- Education: A university degree in Food Technology, Agriculture, Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, International Relations, or a related field.
- Languages: Proficiency in both Arabic and English is essential for effective communication and collaboration.
- Experience: At least 1 year of post-graduate experience, ideally in commercial, business, procurement, or supply chain roles.
- Skills: Strong analytical skills, cultural sensitivity, a team-oriented mindset, and a demonstrated ability to achieve measurable results.
- Travel: Willingness to travel within GCC countries and globally as required by WFP operations.
