Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the National Logistics and Operations Assistant will collaborate closely with implementing partners, other agencies, and CO staff to coordinate logistics support for UNFPA operations. This role is essential for managing humanitarian logistics activities funded by the KOICA project

UNFPA’s strategic plan (2022-2025) focuses on ending preventable maternal deaths, unmet family planning needs, and gender-based violence. The Assistant will play a crucial role in achieving these goals through effective logistics and operations management.
Job Purpose
The Assistant will support the management of UNFPA and KOICA funded project activities, focusing on logistics, supply chain, and operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing logistical support for UNFPA’s humanitarian project and the Country Office, tracking shipment, receipt, and distribution of commodities and supplies.
- Conducting customs clearance in line with local procedures, acting as Inventory Focal Point for data entry and physical count in the Order Tracking System (OTS).
- Assisting in prepositioning, warehousing, transportation, and delivery of commodities and supplies.
- Supporting procurement planning, forecasting logistics-related costs, and maintaining the OTS.
- Coordinating with warehouse focal points for commodity delivery and ensuring accurate completion of delivery documents.
- Assisting in warehouse assessments, spot checks, and audits of program supplies.
- Supporting Last Mile Assurance (LMA) and Supply Chain management requirements.

Qualifications and Experience
Education:
- High School certificate required. First-level university degree desirable.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in logistics, supply chain management, and operations, preferably within the UN system or international organizations.
- Proficiency in office software applications and corporate IT systems.
- Knowledge of corporate policies, procedures, systems, and tools related to supply chain management, logistics, and operations support.
Languages:
- Fluency in English and Farsi is required.
