Organizational Context
In response to escalating global hunger levels, WFP, a Nobel Peace Prize winner (2020), is relocating key corporate functions to Dubai, UAE. This move supports the establishment of the Global Supply Chain Support Center, leveraging Dubai’s strategic location, infrastructure, and expertise. The initiative includes the Humanitarian Leaders Programme, aimed at nurturing Emirati talent to drive future humanitarian efforts and innovations.
Job Purpose
Job Title: Communication and Media Outreach Analyst
Contract/Grade: NOA Fixed-Term Staff
Location: UAE, Dubai

Reporting to: Head of Communication, WFP GCC Office
The Communication and Media Outreach Analyst will contribute to developing and implementing communication strategies for the Global Supply Chain Support Centre. This role involves creating compelling content, managing media relations, and promoting WFP’s humanitarian initiatives through various channels.

Key Accountabilities
- Communication Strategy: Assist in developing strategies to enhance the visibility and reputation of the Global Humanitarian Response Centre.
- Content Creation: Produce engaging content that highlights the Centre’s role in global humanitarian responses, showcasing success stories, partnerships, and impacts.
- Media Monitoring: Monitor traditional and social media to inform communication strategies and evaluate effectiveness.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with local, regional, and international media outlets to ensure accurate and positive coverage.
- Event Coordination: Support in organizing media visits, press conferences, and other events to showcase the Centre’s initiatives.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Compile communication and media outreach data for accurate and timely reporting.
Position Requirements
- Education: Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, International Relations, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in both Arabic and English.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year post-graduate experience in communication, public relations, or journalism.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of graphic design and video editing software is advantageous.
- Personal Attributes: Strong commitment to WFP’s humanitarian mission, proactive work ethic, and ability to thrive in a multicultural environment.
