Role Overview
The Innovation Manager will focus on the “Scaling of Innovation,” managing the process from identifying critical humanitarian issues to scaling viable solutions. The role involves strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and the design and execution of funding calls to support the scaling of innovations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Delivery of Innovation Processes:
- Problem Identification: Identify the most pressing humanitarian problems that require innovative solutions.
- Scaling Opportunities: Analyze opportunities for scaling existing viable innovations.
- Collaboration with Experts: Work with sector experts to investigate potential solutions.
- Funding Calls: Design and manage funding calls specifically for scaling innovation challenges.
- Technical Expertise in Scaling Innovation:
- Apply in-depth technical knowledge of scaling innovation within humanitarian settings.
- Ensure that the scaling processes are robust and tailored to the unique challenges of the humanitarian sector.
- Project and Grant Management:
- Oversee the management of projects and grants, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Manage the procurement of service providers and consultancy contracts to support the HIF’s initiatives.
- Facilitation Skills:
- Conduct workshops and training sessions (both online and in-person) to facilitate the scaling of innovations.
- Utilize excellent facilitation skills to ensure interactive and productive sessions.
- Building and Maintaining Relationships:
- Develop and sustain strong working relationships with diverse stakeholders, including NGOs, research institutions, and innovation networks.
- Network effectively within the humanitarian sector to promote scaling initiatives.
