Role Purpose:

The Senior Finance Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the effective financial management of Save the Children’s Thailand Programme. Responsible for day-to-day accounting tasks, financial compliance, and providing support to various departments, this role contributes significantly to maintaining financial control and ensuring adherence to donor regulations and organizational policies.

Scope of Role:

Reports to: Senior Finance & IT Manager
Staff Reporting: Finance Assistant
Direct: None

Budget Responsibilities: None

Key Areas of Accountability:

Cash & Bank Management:

  • Maintain cash and bank balances, ensuring operational and security needs are met.
  • Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and manage all cash and bank-related documentation.
  • Review and process payment requests, ensuring compliance with budgetary and policy requirements.
  • Coordinate with budget holders to manage cash flow and ensure sufficient funds for daily activities.
  • Liaise with banks and oversee changes to bank signatories.

Financial Support to Human Resources:

  • Collaborate with HR to review staff salaries, benefits, and tax obligations.
  • Enter monthly payroll and benefit data into the system.
  • Process international staff payroll and benefits.
  • Manage staff benefits payments and ensure compliance with regulations.

Month-End:

  • Record staff benefits and ensure timely payment.
  • Conduct month-end cash and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare documents for audits and maintain financial records securely.

General Accounting:

  • Maintain accurate records in the accounting system.
  • Prepare monthly withholding tax forms and submit reports to the revenue department.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.

Other:

  • Update exchange rate information for budget holders.
  • Perform additional tasks as required based on organizational developments.

Qualifications:

  • Thai National
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in finance
  • Proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to travel for work

Experience and Skills:

  • Familiarity with accounting packages
  • Experience in international NGOs
  • Knowledge of preparing withholding tax forms
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
