Purpose of the Position:
The Risk and Compliance Technical Assistant ensures proper filing and backup of support documentation and assists in developing a standard filing system that ensures complete documentation for all transactions in accordance with NRC’s policies, procedures, and relevant donor guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Generic Responsibilities:
- Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelines.
- Prepare and develop status reports and follow-up sheets as required by management.
- Ensure proper filing of documents.
- Promote and share ideas for the improvement of the support function.
- Assist with the implementation of the Support function’s portfolio according to the Plan of Action.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Capture electronic and paper documents of different formats in a central repository.
- Store information in an organized manner, ensuring easy retrieval and archiving of historical data.
- Assist the Risk & Compliance Coordinator in exchanging information between documents, consolidating data in multiple documents for reporting and analysis purposes.
- Ensure all supporting documentation for every transaction is secured both physically and digitally.
- Conduct and support monthly spot checks to ensure adherence to the Securing Supporting Documentation (SSD) procedures in all operations across area offices.
- Assist the Risk & Compliance team in audit preparation.
- Support other projects as designated, such as the disposal project/Ready-to-Audit (RTA).
- Maintain and follow up on Risk & Compliance (R&C) trackers.
- Report to the Risk & Compliance Technical Officer if assigned by the Risk & Compliance Coordinator.

Qualifications:
Generic Professional Competencies:
- Experience from working as an Assistant in a humanitarian/recovery context.
- Documented experience in working in complex and volatile contexts.
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
- Proficiency in Arabic and English, both written and verbal.
Context/Specific Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
- 1 to 3 years of experience working in a support function in a humanitarian/recovery context.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (MS Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and teamwork skills.
- Good cultural awareness and sensitivity.

- Effective planning and delivery of results.
- Capability to empower and build trust.
- Communicating with impact and respect.
