Department Overview:

The Support & Digital Transformation (SDT) department focuses on developing and optimizing a user-centric system of capabilities that include Data & Digital Transformation, Technology & Information, Logistics, and Global Shared Services. This department is pivotal in driving ICRC’s digital transformation and enhancing its digital response and services for affected people and their communities.

Traineeship Opportunity:

The ICRC’s Department of Support and Digital Transformation (SDT) is offering a one-year paid traineeship starting mid-July/early August 2024 at the ICRC headquarters in Geneva, with a 100% working rate.

Purpose of the Role:

This role is central to ICRC’s digital transformation efforts. The trainee/associate will work closely with the SDT Senior Change Advisor and other stakeholders to develop and implement communication and engagement strategies that promote SDT’s value propositions and foster a culture of user-centricity.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Main Responsibilities:

  • Internal Community Page: Analyze, design, create, and maintain a central internal community page that highlights SDT’s value generation and propositions, facilitates access to other divisions, and encourages interactive engagement.
  • Content Management: Coordinate and manage content on SDT’s internal platforms to support engagement.
  • Communication Materials: Develop internal communication materials (documents, infographics, presentations, videos, intranet sections, newsletters) with input from subject matter experts.

Contribution:

  • Brainstorming: Actively brainstorm on activities and events to promote SDT’s value proposition and upcoming changes.
  • Communication Framework: Design an effective communication framework for the department.
  • Event Organization: Assist in organizing workshops and all-staff meetings.
  • Change Management Tasks: Contribute to other change management and engagement-related tasks as needed.

Desired Profile and Skills:

  • Education: University degree in communications, marketing, digital literacy, digital transformation, journalism, or a related field.
  • Experience: A maximum of one year’s professional experience post-graduation or two years if the candidate has previous traineeships related to the role.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English and French is required; knowledge of additional ICRC languages is an asset.
