Job Description

The Position: The Social Media Analyst will support UNFPA India’s external and internal communications and media outreach efforts, working under the Communication & Media Specialist’s supervision and the Chief of Policy, Advocacy, and Partnerships Unit’s overall guidance.

Responsibilities:

A. Increasing Online Presence and Visibility:

  • Social Media:
    • Design and implement strategies to increase followers, reach, and engagement on UNFPA India’s social media platforms.
    • Manage social media accounts with updated content reflecting communication priorities.
    • Plan and execute social media campaigns on relevant issues, including boosting posts and running ad campaigns.
    • Manage social media partnerships and ensure content aligns with brand guidelines.
    • Monitor and moderate comments on posts.
    • Train colleagues on effective social media use.
    • Collect and analyze social media metrics for informed decision-making.
  • Content Curation and Storytelling:
    • Develop high-impact social media content including graphics and videos.
    • Produce field content showcasing UNFPA India’s impact.
    • Engage with social media influencers for promotion.
    • Mobilize youth networks for content development and campaigns.
    • Produce and disseminate the “On Track” e-newsletter.
    • Coordinate development of digital reports, animated infographics, and other content.

B. Website Management:

  • Administer and update the India CO website with the latest content.
  • Implement SEO strategies to increase visibility and drive traffic.
  • Analyze website performance using Google Analytics and develop engagement strategies.
  • Liaise with HQ to update content as needed.

C. Data Collection and Analysis:

  • Collect data from digital channels and use analytical tools to extract insights.
  • Monitor KPIs related to social media engagement and website traffic.
  • Tailor content and marketing efforts based on data-driven insights.

D. SEO and Content Analysis:

  • Optimize content for search engines and social media.
  • Assist in planning and optimizing digital marketing campaigns across various platforms.

E. General Support:

  • Perform any other duties as requested by the Supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, advertising, or related field.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum 7-8 years of experience in social media management, digital marketing, and content development.
  • Experience in planning and implementing social media campaigns and mobilizing user-generated content.
  • Skills in running ad campaigns to increase followers, reach, and engagement.
  • Certifications in Hootsuite, Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, etc., are advantageous.
  • Familiarity with SEO practices and tools like Canva, MailChimp, and CMS.
  • Excellent written and oral communication in English; basic knowledge of Hindi is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, Gender Equality, Youth Empowerment, and Population and Development is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams in an international and multicultural environment.

Compensation and Benefits: This position offers an annual remuneration package of INR 1,469,279 (taxable), along with annual leave, sick leave, and medical insurance coverage.
