Job Description
The Position: The Programme Analyst, Adolescents & Youth is a key role in the UNFPA Country Office in Harare. Reporting directly to the Programme Specialist, Adolescents & Youth, the role focuses on developing and implementing effective strategies to meet the deliverables of the Country Programme Plan. Responsibilities include programme implementation, coordination, and monitoring in areas such as Adolescents and Youth Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (AYSRHR), Youth Empowerment, HIV, Social Innovation, Behavioral Change, and sustainable livelihoods.
Responsibilities:
- General Programming:
- Collaborate with government counterparts, NGOs, and other partners for programme design and AWP alignment.
- Analyze programme progress and ensure projects meet budget and delivery targets.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with various stakeholders for project implementation.
- Document and share knowledge on emerging trends and best practices.
- Technical Expertise/Management:
- Analyze the political, social, and economic environment to identify opportunities for UNFPA assistance.
- Participate in national and sub-national fora to enhance UNFPA’s mandate on youth.
- Address policy issues and contribute to policy dialogue and national development frameworks.
- Ensure increased availability and use of technical information to improve data analysis and usage.
- Advocacy and Resource Mobilization:
- Assist in advocacy and resource mobilization efforts, prepare documentation, and participate in donor meetings.
- Develop materials for public information, advocacy, and resource mobilization.
- Build partnerships for advocacy and monitor existing and potential partnerships.
- Funds Management:
- Prepare and manage budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Manage assets procured by UNFPA and ensure their proper use.
- General Support:
- Stand-in for team members as required and carry out any additional duties as directed by UNFPA leadership.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Education:
- Master’s Degree in political sciences, social policy, public health, social mobilization, business administration, international relations, or related fields.
- Experience:
- At least 2 years of programme experience in development activities, preferably in programme/project management.
- Significant experience in Adolescents and Youth development and SRHR/GBV integration.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and managerial skills.
- Proven ability in resource mobilization and campaign implementation.
- Proficiency in office software packages and web-based management systems.
- Understanding of the UN system and UNFPA mandate is advantageous.
- Languages:
- Fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another UN Official Language is an asset.
