Position Summary
Relief International is seeking a Regional Program Development Officer (Africa and Asia) to support program development efforts across these regions. The role involves coordinating with country offices, managing opportunity tracking and proposal submissions, and supporting administrative tasks related to program development.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Coordination and Support: Collaborate with country offices throughout all stages of program development.
- Proposal Preparation: Assist in editing and reviewing proposal narratives, developing work plans, and managing annexes.
- Opportunity Tracking: Track new funding opportunities and create summaries to aid decision-making.
- Progress Tracking: Monitor and report monthly program development progress, including financial submissions and success rates.
- Due Diligence: Conduct due diligence for new donors and funding opportunities.
- Proposal Submission: Manage the final submission of proposals through external donor platforms.
- Meeting Organization: Organize and document departmental meetings and teleconferences.
- Research: Conduct research on program sectors, donor priorities, and regional funding trends; prepare knowledge pieces.
- Decision Support: Assist in preparing go/no-go memos and cost share analysis.
- Collaboration: Work with Regional Awards Management and Finance Units to update project trackers.
- Administrative Support: Provide administrative support including recordkeeping and data management.
- Safeguarding: Promote safeguarding policies and ensure safety standards are upheld in all interactions.

Role Requirements
- Educational Background: Master’s degree in international development or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Experience:
- 3-4 years with an international NGO.
- 2-3 years in program/proposal/business development within an NGO.
- Grantwriting Familiarity: Knowledge of EU (EC, ECHO), US Government (BHA, BPRM, USAID), and UN Agency grants is essential.
- Skills:
- Strong coordination, communication (oral, written, editing), and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and online collaboration tools.
- Travel: Willingness to travel up to 15% as needed.
