Job Overview: As the Employment Services Coordinator at the International Rescue Committee (IRC), you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting newly arrived refugees and qualified immigrants in achieving self-sufficiency through employment. Your responsibilities will encompass managing day-to-day operations, implementing employment programs, and ensuring effective coordination with various stakeholders. This role requires a strong commitment to empowering individuals to secure meaningful employment opportunities and build sustainable livelihoods.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Supervision and Leadership: Directly supervise a team of employment specialists and AmeriCorps members, providing guidance, mentoring, and training to ensure high-quality service delivery. Offer leadership in resolving complex issues and promoting a positive work environment.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with the career development services coordinator, program manager, and other staff members to ensure seamless integration of economic empowerment services with other IRC programs. Foster collaboration and information sharing across teams to maximize impact.
  • Employer Engagement: Develop and nurture long-term relationships with employers and staffing agencies to identify suitable job opportunities for clients. Organize corporate engagement events and initiatives to showcase IRC’s workforce development initiatives and promote employer partnerships.
  • Program Development and Implementation: Develop program protocols and set clear goals aligned with IRC and donor requirements. Oversee the execution of employment plans, track progress towards objectives, and conduct regular assessments to ensure program effectiveness.
  • Client Services: Conduct intake assessments, provide orientation sessions, and develop individualized employment plans for eligible clients. Offer job readiness training, facilitate job search activities, and provide ongoing support to clients throughout the employment process.
  • Data Management and Quality Assurance: Maintain accurate client records, enter data into relevant databases, and generate reports as required. Conduct regular quality assurance audits to monitor compliance with program standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Post-Placement Support: Assist clients and employers with post-placement issues, including resolving workplace conflicts, accessing additional training opportunities, and addressing any barriers to employment retention.
  • Professional Development: Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging issues related to workforce development and refugee resettlement. Participate in training opportunities and professional development activities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Job Requirements:
